This year again, EMU sets up its focal point for the green and outdoor section within the prestigious stores of the Rinascente, in the great historic buildings of Milan and Catania cities. A temporary corner where to exhibit a selection of the new EMU collections, in perfect harmony with this innovation hub, enliven by the concept of design and Made in Italy.

70 years, a long journey made up of quality, sustainability, research, innovation and an international vocation. Founded in 1951 as a producer of transmission equipment for military use, EMU soon became the pioneer company in technical know-how for metal processing and protection. Today, the company is the result of its strong identity, gained in the course of the years, and its know-how is renewed every day with the application of innovative production techniques, a rigorous monitoring of all processing stages and a deep attention on the environment protection. Really, the made-in-Italy “factor” and its quality are the incontrovertible basis of EMU, a company that has always exported all over the world the Italian culture of outdoor living.

#whyemu gives a voice to the designers and reveals the most hidden essence of the products, so as to understand their character, inspirations, creativity and emotions. The Carousel lounge chair, designed by Sebastian Herkner, won over the jury for its concept and design and was awarded as the Winner 2020 in the Outdoor category of the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards.

On the occasion of the Italian Design Day 2020, the video of the competition “Design. A journey between Italy and Spain” has been presented, in which EMU was involved as a prototyping company for the Entre Redes Project. A collaboration that testifies the profound relationship that the company has with young emerging talents and that shows us how design, projecting and innovating can keep the artisan tradition alive. Stefano Zajotti, EMU Design & Communication Manager, and the student Amalia Puga Cividades, creator of the project, talks about it in this video, at the minute 4:19.

EMU will be present at the Hotel 2020 fair event, from the 19th to the 22nd of October in Bolzano, with important innovations, new collections and range extensions. Unparalleled projects, the result of a corporate ethics focused on made in Italy, sustainability, innovation and an even more transversal use of the product.

EMU is the official sponsor of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, 77th edition. A confirmation, once again this year, of its profound link with the most important international sporting events that promote outdoor activities. The event, scheduled from 12 to 21 September at the Foro Italico in Rome, will take place without the presence of the public following the specific veto of the Technical Scientific Committee, fully implemented by the Lazio Region. As usual, Ciak collection’s seats will be the line umpire’s official competition chairs. Many of the EMU collections, including Re-trouvé, Riviera, Terramare, Tami, Nef and Nova, will furnish the lounge area, reserved for players and designed to make waiting for matches more comfortable.

Starting from Monday May 4th our production units are finally enabled to start activity again, since the conditions have matured to resume safely.

As you know, we steadily kept in touch with you in the past weeks holding the services working from home, we even managed to start dispatching again in the past few days.

We took advantage of this phase of reorganization for security purposes also to develop ideas and solutions to better enjoy the new situations that reality is proposing to us.

EMU, for 70 years, has been a champion of togetherness, of the pleasure of living our outdoor spaces, both residential and public.

We may figure out our future with “social distancing”, yet without renouncing this vocation of ours but has led us to think of new ways of interpreting space.

As per the new provisions issued by the Italian government, dpcm April 1, 2020 on COVID-19, the production stop has been extended until April 13th.

This additional effort is necessary to defeat this pandemic, convinced that we need, now, to strictly observe the provisions for the common well of the whole community.

Our duly authorized staff is overseeing the EMU production departments to keep them in perfect working conditions and we have adapted the workstations to the new standards of social distance.
